Parent Paraphernalia: Kiinde Twist Breastmilk Storage System

Parent Paraphernalia: Kiinde Twist Breastmilk Storage System

Seriously not even over-exaggerating, I am SO excited about the Kiinde Twist system!

After I decided to pump exclusively, I knew that I needed (obviously) a simple way to store my breastmilk. When my husband and I ventured on our registry journey, we sort of stumbled onto the system. It was, truthfully, one of the best purchases we made.

One of the best aspects of it is how easy and convenient it is to use. The gift set that we purchased came with 20 6oz, recyclable pouches, 14 adapters pieces (compatible with all major pump brands), a storage bag holder, a pouch and bottle warmer, two feeding bottles, one slow-flow nipple, one medium-flow nipple, one fast-flow nipple, and two nipple cleaning brushes. In my opinion, it was so worth it to receive all of those items in one purchase!

I love the fact that the Twist pouches hook up directly to my Medela pumping system and once you’re done, you just put the lids on the pouches and either freeze or refrigerate! No transferring gold from container to bottle and losing precious milk in the transfer! Kiinde also makes an on-the-go warmer, that doesn’t require electricity. Honestly, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this, especially for mamas that are exclusively pumping or breastfeeding and are supplementing with pumping.

Another thing that I love about the pouches, is that you can also use them to store pureed food. I know that is something we will definitely do for Cooper. Kiinde also offers two different options to close the food pouches; a squeeze spoon or a sippy-cup-type spout. With Cooper being so little, we have not tried out the food pouch options, at this time.

My biggest complaint is that the pouches aren’t reusable. They are recyclable however, they are for single-use. Once you fill them, warm them, and baby consumes from them, you cannot use them again.

Aside from my one complaint, I cannot emphasize enough how great this product is. With so many different options of the same item (or so it seems), we were truly lucky to find this one.

If you pump exclusively, what system works for you?
